A Day at the Park

Above: Kate's best friends, Chloe and Abigail

QUICK UPDATE: Kate's CT scan was normal, but the eeg did show that she is having chronic seizures. The dumbass neurologist said, "she's having seizures, so here's the medication and the bloodwork to do." Um, thanks for all the information! We have an appointment with another pediatric neurologist in Orlando on February 5th to get more information and better care.
What I do know at this point is that the seizures are localized in the area of her brain most related to sensory issues, motor planning and facial muscles. Hmmmm.... Very interesting, considering Kate's issues are motor planning related, sensory related, and muscle tone related. Maybe, just maybe, we're getting close to more specific answers.....
Please keep our sweet girl in your prayers, though. She sure has a lot to deal with, but she's pretty darn tough. (And pretty damn cute, too!)

Great photos of Kate!! It put a smile on my face to see her sweet self going down that slide!

Kate (& you guys) continue to be in my prayers...sounds like you are getting closer to a diagnosis!

I love the pictures! She is SO darn cute!! I'm sorry about the *wonderful* (ahem) neuro's bedside manner, and about the diagnosis. We're hoping you're one step closer to the answers you need, though. We also hope your new neuro can answer some Qs for you. Hugs.

yes...why is that parents have to figure all this stuff out nowadays? It's insane. It's like they should be paying us for the information we find for them!

GREAT news on DTC!!!!!

Wow. Sorry to hear that she's having seizures, but like you said, it might be an answer to helping her with the issues she struggles with.
I'll keep her in my prayers! Thanks for the update and adorable pics :)

Definately a Cutie - melissa's favorite song lately - KKKKatie - can't help thinking of the sweetheart kate every time. Wow. How wonderful to hear that you may be getting close, (though not close to a good doctor) to identifying some of the real issues in Kate's development - always hopeful. Can't wait to hear more. Stacy

She's just beautiful. I hope you get the right answers in Orlando, because Kate deserves the best. What a shock to read about the seizure connection! You're in our thoughts. Caroline
